His presence will add experience and resilience and panache to an event that will gather prominent voices from across the entire spectrum of the sport.
Dib, a former super featherweight world champion and veteran of more than 50 professional bouts (49 wins, 27 KOs; 6 losses), has left a significant mark both inside and outside the ring. Known for his discipline, meticulous preparation, and ability to reinvent himself, he has headlined title fights, high-level rivalries, and personal rebuilding stages that have made him a respected figure in the boxing community.
A natural orthodox and owner of a technical style built on distance control and intelligent jab management, Dib has faced champions and contenders from various eras. His career is also recognized for his willingness to fight abroad, which has taken him to compete in the United States, Japan, and other major markets.
The 2025 Convention , taking place at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, will feature themed panels, regulatory meetings, interactions with current champions, joint activities with the Muay Thai division, and the traditional awards gala. For Dib, it will be an opportunity to share his perspective on the development of boxing in Asia and Oceania, as well as the evolution of the super featherweight division worldwide.
Billy Dib’s confirmation strengthens the international character of the WBC’s annual gathering and underscores the organization’s commitment to figures who have contributed to the sport’s growth both in and out of the ring.
