Global launch pad for Muay Thai at 63rd WBC Convention

In 2001, Don José Sulaiman and General Kovid met with the King of Thailand and promised His Majesty to grow and develop the ancient and traditional sport of Muay Thai.

Through the years the World Boxing Council has walked its talk, inputting and infusing vitality, to boost Muay Thai. As a result and via tangible results Muay Thai is flourishing.

So much so, that the WBC is holding the first ever combined Boxing/Muay Thai Convention from November 30th to December 5th in Bangkok the Capital of Thailand.

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman said: “This is the completion of a beautiful cycle, which began when the King of Thailand asked my father and General Kovid to establish WBC Muay Thai as a committee, it’s a reality and this will be the first Convention WBC and WBC Muay Thai, precisely in Thailand.

“This is going to be the formal. Launching of WBC Muay Thai Worldwide”

And, when asked if there will be more combined Conventions, Mauricio replied: “You can count on it!”
