1971 – Filipino fighter Erbito Salavarria defended his WBC Flyweight title by fighting to a 15-round draw with Venezuelan Betulio Gonzalez in Maracaibo, Venezuela. The WBC later stripped Salavarria of the title after he tested positive in an anti-doping control.

1978 – Mexican Miguel Canto defended his WBC Flyweight title by defeating Thai Tacomrom Viboonchai by a 15-round decision. The bout took place in Houston, Texas.

1982 – In a fight between two Americans held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Dwight Qawi defended his WBC Light Heavyweight title by knocking out Eddie Davis in the 11th round.

1997 – In a great fight held in Los Angeles, California, Genaro Hernandez defeated Carlos Hernandez by decision. The WBC Super Featherweight title was contested in this bout.

2004 – American Winky Wright defended his WBC Super Welterweight crown by defeating his compatriot Sugar Shane Mosley by decision in Las Vegas, Nevada.

2010 – Argentine Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez scored an impressive two-round knockout against American Paul Williams in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The WBC Middleweight title was contested in this fight.
