WBC Interim Super Lightweight Champion, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, plans to dominate and leave no room for doubt when he faces American Lamont Roach in the main event of the PBC Pay-Per-View available on Prime Video on Saturday, December 6th, from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
“Winning is the only option this December 6th,” exclaimed Cruz (28-3-1, 18 KOs). “Whether by knockout or by points, it has to be a decisive victory. I know there will be no margin for error, and our duty will be to prevail one round at a time… My entire team is focused on a singular goal: winning at all costs.”
Cruz is 27 years old and important to broach the subject of Roach, who has had a meteoric rise to the sport’s elite after a controversial draw earlier this year in the toughest fight that Gervonta “Tank” Davis, a three-division world champion, has ever had.
Cruz has his own rivalry with Davis, and there is a lot of talk about how the winner of this contest could earn a rematch against Davis in the future. However, Cruz is solely focused on the opponent who will stand full square in his way on December 6th.
“We are well aware that we will have a high-caliber opponent in front of us, and we know we cannot afford to underestimate his boxing ability,” stated Cruz. “We are studying all his previous fights to make sure we know the good and the bad about him. We are getting stronger day after day, becoming increasingly confident that we will finish with our arm raised on December 6th.”
The Aztec Fireball, originally from Mexico City, has become immensely popular and enjoys the passionate support of his compatriots, who adore his aggressive fighting style and admire his willingness to face the best.
Cruz returns to San Antonio after five years. The last time he fought there was in 2020, during his breakout fight, after knocking out Diego Magdaleno in the first round, in front of spectators in a city that loves boxing. Now he seeks to stand out again in an even bigger arena than that time.
“There is no doubt that there will be many Mexican fans in San Antonio,” said Cruz. “Returning to a place where one can feel and see the love and support of your people is spectacular, even though we are far from home. Now that I am back in Texas, I hope the energy and enthusiasm of the people will be even greater.”
This pay-per-view event will be available through Prime Video whether you are a Prime member or not, and it will also be accessible through traditional cable and satellite providers, and by logging onto PPV.com.
Tickets are already on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
The event is promoted by TGB Promotions, in association with MP Promotions, ProBox Promotions, and Box Stars.
