The World Boxing Council (WBC) has announced the participation of straw weight world champion Melvin Jerusalem, as a special guest at its 2025 Annual Convention, in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 30 to December 5.
Originally from Bukidnon, Philippines, Jerusalem (professional record: 25-3, 12 KOs) has established himself as one of the brightest representatives of the new generation of Filipino boxing.
His discipline, strength, and consistency led him to capture the WBC world title in the straw weight division, joining the prestigious list of champions his country has produced.
With an aggressive style, excellent footwork, and a relentless pace of attack, Jerusalem combines traditional Filipino technique with remarkable endurance — qualities that have made him a respected competitor on the international stage.
The 2025 WBC Convention, to be held at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, will bring together champions, former champions, officials, promoters, and some of the most iconic figures in world boxing.
This year’s edition will be particularly meaningful, as it will, for the first time, integrate the WBC Muay Thai branch, bringing both combat disciplines together under one roof.
Throughout the week, the Convention will feature conferences, themed panels, award ceremonies, networking sessions, and the traditional closing gala.
Melvin Jerusalem’s presence will be one of the highlights, as he shares his experience as a world champion and as a representative of the perseverance and pride that define Filipino boxing.
Jerusalem thus joins the list of international stars confirmed for the 2025 WBC Convention, reaffirming his place among the elite of world boxing and his commitment to the green and gold legacy of the organization.
