An emotional tribute was held in honor of our beloved José Sulaimán at the Club Libanés in Mexico City, with the presence of the Lebanese community including his dear friend Carlos Slim.
The extraordinary life and legacy celebration brought together family, friends, business leaders, and sports figures, who shared stories and remembered his unwavering commitment to boxer safety, the global promotion of the sport, and his love for life.
Raising awareness is the goal of the WBC, which this October dresses in pink and joins the fight against breast cancer, during the month dedicated to breast cancer awareness, worldwide.

Qualitas of Life Foundation, serving the Hispanic community, is one of our favorite organizations. And their event at the Queens Museum, in NYC, didn’t disappoint. Teaching economic education to all. The WBC was proud to donate an Amateur Belt for their auction.

What a Fight! spectacular draw between Briton Nathaniel Collins and Spaniard Cristóbal Lorente, in an epic firefight in Glasgow for the WBC Silver title and the European Featherweight championship.
Norway, legendary Cecilia Brækhus closed her brilliant career with ”A Signet Signature” unanimous decision victory triumph, over Slovenian Ema Kozin, capturing the WBC Super Welterweight title.

During the traditional Martes de Café weekly press conference, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz was presented with the “Aztec Warrior 2” belt.
Legendary world champion and pioneer of women’s boxing, Jackie “La Princesa Azteca” Nava, captivated the audience with her inspiring master class titled “The Power of Your Fear.”
The event, held at the Reynosa Sports Center and also attended by Mayor Lic. Carlos Peña Ortiz, offered an intimate and powerful perspective on how fears, far from being paralyzing, can become the greatest source of strength and motivation for achieving success.
Young boxer Dario Espinoza, who lives with Down syndrome, was honored by our ambassador Josejas during the WBC’s Martes de Café. Dario attended alongside his parents.

A delegation from the WBC MuayThai and World Boxing Council, led by Royal Thai Army Major General Thanapol Bhakdibhumi, met with Thailand’s newly appointed Minister of Sports and Tourism, Khun Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, to discuss preparations for the upcoming WBC Global Convention, taking place from November 30 to December 5 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Bangkok.

At Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Boxing fitness brought together children, teenagers, and adults who gathered to learn the punches under the guidance of coach and former boxer Rosy Olvera.

The World Boxing Council and its champions visited the Children’s Hospital in Reynosa, to bring toys, t shirts, and love plus messages of hope and inspiration to the youngest and most vulnerable in our society.

World Mental Health Day, observed on October 10th every year, is a global initiative that aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote open discussions to reduce stigma.
Mental health is a vital aspect of an individual’s overall well-being, and it impacts people from all walks of life, including athletes. The World Boxing Council have recognized the importance of mental health in the boxing community and have taken significant steps to support their fighters’ mental well-being.
In Reynosa town Hall Mauricio Sulaiman cut the crimson ribbon to inaugurate the Museum dedicated to the life’s work of his Father Don Jose Sulaiman.
The iconic boxing leader, Don José Sulaimán Chagnón, was recognized for his outstanding career and for being a distinguished native of Tamaulipas, with multiple qualities that have immortalized him. His sons, Pepe and Mauricio Sulaimán, were responsible for receiving the posthumous award during an emotional tribute honoring their father.

At Martes de Cafe, was presented “Champions of the Ring in Life”, a collection of three smart, ornate, exquisite jewelry pieces through which Julio César Chávez and Cherry Coll pay tribute to the true champions of life.

The World Boxing Council invited the boxing family of Mexico and society as a whole to come together in these difficult times, as thousands of Mexican families are suffering due to the recent floods that have affected various regions of the country. The WBC and its Vice President, Hector Sulaimán, launched the distribution of 20,000 food packages as part of the first stage of relief efforts, and now a second phase is beginning — one in which we can all take part.

Vintage Veteran former world champion Danny García concluded his professional boxing career spectacularly with a fourth-round knockout of Daniel González at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
After three intense stages, the WBC Boxing Grand Prix now enters its semifinal phase. The official weigh-in took place.
On October 18, 2025, at the South Padre Island Convention Center in Texas, Lourdes Juárez (Mexico) faced fellow Mexican Yesica Nery Plata with the WBC light flyweight world title on the line. After ten intense rounds, the judges scored the fight as follows: 95-95, 96-94, and 96-94, awarding a majority decision victory to Juárez.

Camila “La Magnífica” Zamorano consolidated her reign as World Boxing Council (WBC) Atomweight Champion by decisively defeating Japanese challenger Sana Hazuki by unanimous decision.

The future of British boxing shone brightly during the weekend of October 24–26, 2025, with the celebration of The Counties Box Cup. This amateur tournament, supported and sanctioned by the WBC Amateur (the non-professional boxing committee of the World Boxing Council), established itself as a crucial platform for the development of the next generation of boxing talent in the United Kingdom.
LAPD, TORKLAW, and the WBC Amateur came together for the Halloween Fight Fest Amateur Boxing Show! A powerful, fun, and successful community event that inspired our youth. Young athletes showed heart, discipline, and sportsmanship while neighbors, officers, and supporters cheered them on.

Martes de Cafe featured the unveiling of the traditional Day of the Dead shrine
During Martes de Cafe, the WBC Day of the Dead Belt was officially unveiled — the winning design from the Talent Pitch Designers Flow, an international contest that brought together thousands of artists from around the world to create the very first Day of the Dead-themed belt for the World Boxing Council.
The belt will be dedicated to two major fights:
- Gabriela Sánchez vs. Tamara Demarco, for the WBC Interim Flyweight Title, in Puebla, Mexico.
- Vergil Ortiz vs. Erickson Lubin, for the WBC Interim Super Welterweight Title, in Texas, USA.

Melvin Jerusalem finished with greater strength and certainly needed it, earning a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Siyakholwa Kuse to retain his WBC Strawweight World Title.

American Ace Mikaela Mayer traveled into rival territory, came up trumps and returned home as the new WBC Super Welterweight World Champion, after defeating local favorite Mary Spencer by unanimous decision at the Montreal Casino.
