Green and Gold will shine in Bangkok as WBC Awards will honor the sport’s Greats

The World Boxing Council will soon hold its annual Convention —the most important event of the year for the global boxing community—in the vibrant and welcoming city of Bangkok, Thailand, from November 30 to December 5.

This Convention is a unique opportunity for the boxing world to unite, work together to make the sport better and safer, and celebrate Thailand’s rich combat sports heritage. Known as the “Land of Smiles,” Thailand is a place of great beauty, fascinating culture, and warm-hearted people.

This year’s edition will be historic, as WBC Muaythai will join the annual Convention  for the first time, creating a joint event that bridges the worlds of boxing and Muaythai. Bangkok, a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, is the ideal host for this dual celebration.

During the convention, the WBC will honor individuals, federations, committees, and champions whose dedication and passion have left an indelible mark on the sport. Awards include the Lifetime Achievement Award, Human Equality Award, Champion of Life, Commissioner of the Year, Confederation of the Year, Lady of the Year, Boxing Couple of the Year, Man of the Year, and the Humanitarian Award, among many others.

Each recognition reflects the WBC’s core values: excellence, commitment, compassion, and the ongoing pursuit of a better future for the boxing family. The organization will also honor those who have shown unwavering loyalty with the Loyalty and Honor Award, and those who embody the WBC spirit as WBC Ambassadors.

Additional honors include the Dr. Gerald Finerman Medical Award for outstanding contributions to sports medicine, the Bravest Man on Earth and Bravest Woman on Earth awards celebrating human courage, and the Champion of Hope, recognizing those who inspire beyond the ring.

Once again, the Convention will serve as a bridge between past, present, and future—a space where achievements are celebrated, new goals are forged, and the WBC’s mission is reaffirmed: to make boxing a force for unity, respect, and hope around the world.
