In a press conference was announced that WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastián “The Towering Inferno” Fundora will defend his crown for the third time and on this occasion against former unified world champion Keith “One Time” Thurman on Saturday, October 25, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The co-main event of the card headlined by Fundora and Thurman promises to steal the spotlight, or even a moonbeam.
Stephen Fulton Jr, WBC featherweight world champion, will aim to become a three-division champion when he faces O’Shaquie Foster, WBC super featherweight world champion.

The “Green and Gold” Tournament, an amateur event supported by WBC Amateur, was held with great success in Bolivia.
The championship took place in Santa Cruz from September 10 to 13 at the Jhon Píctor Blanco Coliseum in La Paz.
More than 200 boxers from Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, Paraguay, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Bolivia participated in this great tournament, turning Santa Cruz into an epicenter of I nternational boxing.

American Terence “Bud” Crawford earned the most important victory of his career by defeating Mexico’s Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez by unanimous decision to become the undisputed super middleweight world champion.
The fight was the main event of a card organized by Riyadh Season/The Ring, led by Turki Alalshikh, and was televised by Netflix from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
French-Canadian interim WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli retained his title by getting a draw against Léster Martínez of Guatemala. The spectacular hard fought bout was part of the undercard for the Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez vs. Terence “Bud” Crawford fight, which took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Japanese undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue defeated former world champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev of Uzbekistan by unanimous decision.
The bout was the main event of a Hideyuki Ohashi/Ohashi Promotions card at the Aichi International Arena (IG Arena) in Nagoya, Japan.

The National Popular Games were presented during Martes de Café. From November 2 to 10, Oaxtepec, Morelos will host the National Popular Games, a competition that brings together thousands of young people from across the country in various sports.
During Martes a Cafe, Celaya’s Municipal President Juan Miguel Ramírez and WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán expressed their commitment to promoting sports and bringing boxing closer to the youth of that region.

A Champion in Recess is a special recognition granted by the WBC to boxers who have had an outstanding career and achieved elite status in the sport.

Historic Boxing Night – International event in El Salvador
The Legacy Night 2025 fight was held at the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium in San Salvador. It was the first time El Salvador hosted such a major event sanctioned by the World Boxing Council. All the regional WBC fights were supervised by the organization’s General Secretary, Robert Lendhardt of the United States, and the president of FECARBOX and WBC Vice President, Alberto Guerra of Panama.
Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora reaffirmed her dominance in women’s boxing by overcoming and overwhelming Canadian Alexas Kubicki, retaining her undisputed titles, solidifying her status as the youngest undisputed champion in history.

American Tiara “Dark Menace” Brown successfully defended her WBC Featherweight World Title for the first time, defeating French fighter Ema Gongora by unanimous decision at the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas.
In a hard-fought battle at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Australian Kaye Scott and American Olivia Curry were unable to determine a new WBC Middleweight World Champion, leaving the title vacant.

Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro received a WBC minibelt, sent directly by President Mauricio Sulaimán, as a gesture of support and encouragement ahead of his participation in the Elite Road Race in Kigali, Rwanda.
Del Toro Romero is a Mexican cyclist born on November 27, 2003, in Ensenada, Baja California. He developed his skills in his home state, riding for various youth teams.
A beautiful and memorable moment of togetherness was shared by champions Mariana “Barby” Juárez, Humberto “Chiquita” González, Pipino Cuevas, Isaac “Tortas” Bustos, and Víctor Rabanales during a visit by WBC Cares to the National Cancer Institute in Mexico City, alongside the “Somos Luz” Foundation.

The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame, so many brilliant community members showed up to the event. Heroes like Duran, Spinks, Paz, Briggs, Collins, Chop Chop, Jolene Mizzone, Kathy Duva, Antufermo , Jr Jones, Joe Cortez, Larry Hazard, Iran Barclay, Julian Jones, Zarate to mention a few, came to pay respect to each other and a home of boxing history.
At the awards, Ray McCline, the ACBHOF President showed the trailer of @Jesszillathefilm, and gave Jill Diamond, representing the WBC, the privilege of presenting Pedro Silva, Jesselyn SILVA’s father, a WBC Gold amateur belt in her honor.

At the JAB San Ramón Terrace, located in the Easy Park parking lot in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, the undefeated Lázaro “El King” Lorenzana successfully defended his World Boxing Council Super Middleweight Silver title by defeating Jesús Vega Villaman.
The city of Kigali, Rwanda, was the setting for a historic event for African sports with the official presentation of the Carlos Takam Foundation Boxing Academy, a project that seeks to boost youth talent and strengthen the presence of boxing on the continent. The ceremony brought together international figures, including Prince Albert of Monaco, former champion and promoter Carlos Takam, the president of the International Cycling Union (UCI), David Lappartient, and Princess Sophia Wolkonsky, as well as sports officials, local authorities, and special guests.

The 80th edition of the Handicap de las Américas, the most emblematic race in Mexican horse racing, had a special touch this weekend with the presence of Mauricio Sulaimán, The President of the World Boxing Council, was in charge of presenting the award to the competition’s winner. Mauricio was delighted to return to a venue that holds a deep significance for his family.

The new WBC flyweight world champion, Ricardo Sandoval, was honored and crowned WBC World Champion by President Mauricio Sulaimán.
Lester Martínez, who recently challenged Christian Mbilli for the WBC interim middleweight title, attended the traditional Martes de Café, and was recognized with a Ring.
At the traditional Martes de Café, it was announced that Venezuelan fighter Carlos “CCC” Cañizales will defend his WBC light flyweight world title during the annual WBC Convention in Thailand. As a token of gratitude, Cañizales presented Sulaimán with the shorts he wore when he became world champion.
