
So many brilliant community members showed up to the event. Heroes like Duran, Spinks, Paz, Briggs, Collins, Chop Chop, Jolene Mizzone, Kathy Duva, Antufermo , Jr Jones, Joe Cortez, Larry Hazard, Iran Barclay, Julian Jones, Zarate to mention a few, came to pay respect to each other and a home of boxing history.
And there were the amazing Patrick Killian portraits of each winner with elegance and accuracy.
Also attending was Cesar, and some of the No Limit Academy teens excited to pass around the Jack Johnson Belt Aaron Snowell brought there as a surprise.
At the awards, Ray McCline, the ACBHOF President showed the trailer of @Jesszillathefilm, and gave Jill Diamond, representing the WBC, the privilege of presenting Pedro Silva, Jesselyn SILVA’s father, a WBC Gold amateur belt in her honor.
September is for gold ribbons, symbolizing Childhood Brain Cancer. Jesselyn Silva, an inspiring and beloved amateur champion passed at 18 years of age from this disease.
Pedro was soothed by the warm and genuine response from the audience as he spoke about childhood brain cancer, the number one disease and cause of pediatric deaths.
This was an emotional and memorable ceremony.
