
After some changes to the fight date, Ilunga Makabu will face Charles Manyuchi on Friday, September 5 defending his WBC Africa cruiserweight title at the Stadium Basket, Stade des Martyrs, in Kinshasa, Congo.
This fight is part of the Year of Africa celebrations; earlier this year, the World Boxing Council declared 2025 as the Year of Africa.
The celebration pays tribute to the history, achievements, magnificence, and splendor of African boxing. In January 2025, the WBC announced that this would be the Year of Africa, which has been distinguished with different events featuring African fighters across the continent, showcasing the great talent and diversity of boxing in Africa.
