On September 20th, the city of Altamira, Tamaulipas, will host a high-level boxing event with the return of the traditional “Sábados de Box” (Boxing Saturdays) on Box Televisa, featuring two high-voltage fights at the Altamira Stadium.
The undefeated Cristopher “Pollo” López, with an impressive streak of knockout victories, will face former world champion Hernán “Tyson” Márquez.
Meanwhile, David “General” Cuéllar will return to the ring to face Panamanian Eusebio “Godzila” Acevedo, who comes into this fight with a 75% knockout effectiveness rate.
The event, which will be broadcast to millions of homes, is a presentation by Latin KO Promotions in association with Cancún Boxing and Boxing Time, thanks to the facilities granted by the Municipal Government of Altamira, led by Dr. Armando Martínez Manríquez.
Visiting “Coffee Tuesday,” Dr. Altamira commented: “I am very happy to join you and be here to present and invite you to the card we will have on September 20th. We want to pay tribute to Don José Sulaimán, who is undoubtedly a pioneer of boxing and a native of Tamaulipas, during the event.”
Mauricio Sulaimán commented: “The state of Tamaulipas is everything to me and my family. My father enjoyed going to his homeland. We have a lot of affection for that great state. I want to reiterate to Dr. Armando Martínez that this event will be a great occasion and that the WBC will gladly join in to do important activities during the fight, highlighting the great municipality that Altamira is.”
