The WBC’s Year of Africa continues to deliver unforgettable moments, and this time the spotlight focuses on Tanzania.
On Saturday, July 26, Viwanja vya Posta in Dar es Salaam will host “Knockout ya Mama V,” headlined by two of the continent’s standout fighters: Ibrahim “Mafia” and Aliu “Lucky Boy” Bamidele.
The event, promoted by Mafia Boxing Promotions, will feature the undefeated local fighter Ibrahim Mafia (12-0-1, 8 KOs) defending his WBC Africa bantamweight title. Mafia claimed the belt in October 2024 with a ninth-round knockout over Ghana’s Enoch Tettey Tetteh.
His challenger, Nigerian veteran Aliu “Lucky Boy” Bamidele (19-1-1, 8 KOs), is determined to capture the title and join the growing list of African fighters gaining global recognition.
But beyond the sporting stakes, the event is a celebration of African boxing—a platform designed to empower local talent and elevate the continent’s presence on the world stage. With every punch thrown, Africa’s voice in the sport grows louder.
