Usyk stops Dubois in five at Wembley
The second fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois ended impressively at Wembley Stadium in London, England, with two knockdowns and the end came in the fifth.
The Ukrainian maestro showed variety, subtlety and precision which he inflicted upon the local favorite in front of his home crowd of eighty thousand, earning their respect. In Usyk retained his heavyweight belts and also recovered the title Dubois possessed.
Usyk holds an undefeated record of 24 wins, with 15 knockouts. During the fight, he appeared much lighter, was quick and decisive, taking advantage of a lapse in Dubois’s guard to land the punch that secured his victory.
The moment occurred in the fifth round, with 1:21 remaining. Amidst an exchange of blows from both boxers, Dubois threw a right hand, leaving that side of his face unprotected. Usyk seized the opportunity to deliver a precise right hook, dropping him on all fours. Daniel bravely got up but was nailed by a southpaw left hook. Down he went and it was all over. Usyk still looking great aged thirty eight.
