On August 23, Ilunga Junior Makabu and Charles Manyuchi will headline a special boxing event at the Stadium Basket, Stade des Martyrs, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
It’s part of the ongoing celebration of the Year of Africa, a campaign that pays tribute to the history, achievements, and greatness of African boxing. In January 2025, the WBC officially declared this as the Year of Africa, and the initiative has been marked by a series of exciting matchups between African fighters, across the continent.
Sarah Enduwa, David Tshama, Landry Matete, Jordy Mukuna, and Peter Pita are also set to appear on the card and are currently awaiting confirmation of their opponents.
