Iconic WBC Moments 2025 – First Semester: 4. WBC Enhanced Scoring System

2025 has been a wonderful year for the WBC, with many great events. We’ll be highlighting the iconic moments from this first half of the year.

The World Boxing Council successfully implemented the “WBC enhanced scoring system” during the first two rounds of the WBC Boxing Grand Prix.

The WBC has developed this system over many years with the support of Duane Ford and his committee of ring officials. It allows judges to score each round numerically and provide a report on whether it was a close, moderate, decisive, or extremely decisive round.

These categories have a numerical value that’s reflected in the enhanced scoring system. It’s undoubtedly an innovative system that avoids draws in boxing, providing impartiality for the fight winner and transparency for boxing fans.
