Andrew “Beast” Tabiti will face Jacob Dickson on June 13 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana, as part of the Year of Africa celebrations, in a bridgerweight bout.
At the official weigh-in for the “Battle of the Beasts” both boxers had sacrificed creature comforts, to made weight:
Andrew Tabitti weighed in at 223 pounds.
Jacob Dickson weighed in at 211 pounds.
The fight will be the first contest for the commemorative African belt, created to celebrate the culture and history of boxing on the mother continent.
During the evening, The Great Azumah “Professor” Nelson will be honored for his boxing career.
Azumah Nelson was a two-division WBC champion, featherweight and super featherweight.
WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi, who will serve as Supervisor of the fight, held a meeting with Ghanaian President Johnny Dramani Mahama, where he offered him a replica of the African belt.
