Los Angeles showed its heart this past weekend at the touching “Night of Heroes” event. In a beautiful display of community spirit, LAPD Boxing, TORKLAW, and WBC united for our brave first responders who lost their homes while saving others during the devastating LA Fires.
Commerce Casino was packed to the rafters as community members gathered to support this worthy cause. The night featured an exciting Amateur Boxing Show with fighters from LAPD, LAFD, and LASD stepping into the ring. Young boxers from local gyms also showcased their talents, bringing fresh energy to the event.
The atmosphere was nothing short of magical. DJ beats filled the air while the LAPD Mariachi band added cultural richness to the evening. TORKLAW’s popular punch machine had everyone testing their power, and their free photo booth captured countless smiles and memories. Twelve thrilling amateur bouts kept the crowd on the edge of their seats before La Sonora Dinamita took the stage, turning the night into a true celebration.
In a moving ceremony, WBC and LAPD Boxing recognized community heroes who stepped up during the crisis. These everyday angels provided food, water, and first aid kits to exhausted first responders, while also helping fire victims with hygiene kits, food gift cards, and emotional support.
A solemn moment came when all honored fallen hero Samuel Riveros, who recently made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting an injured officer. His family and fellow officers from Baldwin Park PD were present, receiving the community’s embrace during this special tribute.
The Night of Heroes proved that when our community and law enforcement stand together, beautiful things happen. It reminded us all that in times of hardship, our collective strength can make a real difference in the lives of those who risk everything for us.
Thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable night possible. Your generosity and spirit of giving have touched countless lives..
