American Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez will face a new challenge in his career, this time a super flyweight unification fight, on July 19th, on a card presented by Matchroom at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, which will be broadcast worldwide on http://dazn.com/wbc

Jesse (21-0, 14 KOs), WBC champion, will face South African Phumelela Cafu, WBO champion with a record of 23-0-3, with 8 KOs.

Rodríguez, 25, from San Antonio, Texas, is looking to become undisputed champion in a division where Argentine “Puma” Martínez also shines, and he emphasized being ready for the winner of this fight.

Rodríguez will enter this fight after rapidly defeating Mexican Pedro Guevara last November, once again demonstrating his great quality in the ring.

Meanwhile, Cafu, 26, is coming off a 115-pound title win in an October 2024 clash against Japanese Kosei Tanaka.
