
This Saturday in Santa Cruz de Bezana, Cantabria, Spain, local fighter Bruno Macho will fight the most important fight of his career, when he faces Colombian Bairon Rodriguez for the World Boxing Council Intercontinental Youth bantamweight title.
Macho (8-0, 2 KOs), who suffered from leukemia between the 3 and 15 years old, will seek to win this prestigious belt in the Nuevo José Escandón Municipal Pavilion in Santa Cruz de Bezana, a venue that will install stands to accommodate the numerous expected fans.
Facing him will be Bairon Rodriguez (11-2, 7 KOs), which promises an intense duel between local talent and the Colombian’s experience. The WBC Intercontinental Youth title is a recognized springboard to the elite of world boxing.
Both fighters passed the official weigh-in without any any problems. Bruno weighed 53.1 kilos; while Bairon weighed 52.3 kilos.
