During 2020, while we were living in an altered reality caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, a story of courage, love and solidarity motivated and inspired us.
A 6-year-old boy named Bridger Walker heroically saved his 4-year-old sister from a dog attack receiving severe injuries to his face and other parts of his body that required more than 90 stitches.
In recognition of this inspiring act, the WBC recognized Bridger Walker and named its newest division “Bridger” in his honor. Also, during our virtual Convention, Bridger received a tribute, via zoom, from Mike Tyson and other great champions.
It was not until 2021 that pandemic restrictions began to ease and we were able to invite Bridger Walker and his family in person to our Convention in Mexico City. The boxing family stood united, to recognize our hero as “The Bravest Man in the World.”
Since then, the Walker family have become welcome guests at our Conventions. Bridger Walker is a symbol of hope, strength and courage for the boxing family and for this reason, at each Convention he is in charge of recognizing great characters as “The Bravest Men and/or Women in the World.”
We are pleased and proud to confirm his attendance at the annual WBC convention that will be held in Hamburg from December 8 to 14. On this occasion, our young hero will also bring his story of bravery to hundreds of German children.
SEE YOU IN HAMBURG!
