Best Dave? No face save for Benavidez and Morrell!

Dave rave, as undefeated light heavyweight stars David “El Monstro” Benavidez and David Morrell Jr. came face to face, cheek to jowl, at a press conference in Los Angeles before fighting for Benavidez’s interim WBC title and Morrell’s WBA title.

It’s part and parcel of a PBC PPV extravaganza on Prime Video taking place Saturday, Feb. 1 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The bout of no Goliath, yet two Davids, is promoted by Sampson Boxing and Warriors Boxing.

Each Dave is determined to pave the way:

DAVID BENAVÍDEZ:
“Here we are again. I told them I was going to give them the fights they wanted to see, and now here we are. Morrell has been talking about me for a while and disrespecting me. He wanted to make it personal with me, so I’m going to personally break his mouth. That will give him something to remember me by.

“These are the type of fighters I want to fight. I want to face guys who think they are going to come in and knock me out. He has never fought anyone like me and I am going to show everyone that there are levels to this.

“I want to get the credit I deserve when I beat him up. I love that he is confident. I love facing guys like this.

“He knows what he said and that is exactly what I needed to get me pumped up to fight. He thinks he is big and bad, but he is nothing. I am going to show him who is the best on February 1.

“It is no longer time to play games. It is time to see who is the best David. I want to show everyone where I am. I want to take control and show everyone that I am the fiercest fighter out there.”

DAVID MORRELL JR:
“I am going to get the knockout 100%. He talks a lot and does not bite. He cannot do what he thinks he is going to do.

“I have been waiting for this opportunity to fight Benavidez for a long time. Saturday, February 1st. I promise Benavidez and everyone watching, it will be a great fight.

“I know it won’t be an easy fight, but nothing is easy in life. I promise I’m ready to fight.”
