Taking the lead, Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and challenger Tyson Fury met face to face for a duet of note in London, to promote their rematch, on December 21 in Saudi Arabia.
And Oh Boy…they weren`t short of a quip or two for the upcoming chapter of this lingering tale:
Fury growled; “It’s actually been about four and a half years since I felt like I was the underdog for a fight. The last time was the Wilder fight, when I was the underdog. What’s going through my mind? I’m looking forward to a fantastic fight. The last time in May was a fantastic fight. Oleksandr won the fight fairly. I need a bit more focus and I need to do the job I need to do. There’s nothing drastic that needs to change. A bit more of the same. I can come out on top.
“I think next time it’s my turn to win and I think all the things that happen, negative or positive, are lessons. We have to learn from the things we go through in our lives, and we can only do the best we can as human beings and as boxers,” Fury declared.
Usyk, who arrived dressed as the Hitman from the video game of the same name, snapped:
“What is my motivation? – I have no motivation. Just my regime, just my focus. This is my motivation. That’s enough for me.”
Usyk asked his opponent to sign some photos from the first fight, which allowed for some jocular inky levity between the Boys, when Fury commented that he looked “like Shrek” in one of the pics.
