Last weekend, in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, Christian “Pelón” Islas was crowned WBC Intercontinental Youth Featherweight Champion, by knocking out Colombian Jhan Camacho in the third round.
The 20-year-old received from the hands of WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán the belt that endorses, lauds and celebrates him as the WBC Intercontinental Youth Champion.
“It is something very important for me and something that excites me a lot, to be able to be crowned WBC Intercontinental Youth Champion, and I am going to continue training hard to continue reaping victories,” Islas commented.
“People like my boxing because they have been very tough fights, I always give people something to talk about, thank God I give my best effort. Nothing has been easy and I have to work hard and always give my best,” the champion commented.
Mauricio Sulaimán commented: “I wish Christian great success. We were with you since you started in boxing and we will continue to be by your side until you achieve your goals.”
