On this day in history, the great Mexican world champion, Julio Cesar Chavez, defended his WBC super lightweight crown for the 7^th time defeating tough Puerto Rican contender, Angel Hernandez, by TKO in the 5^th round.

With this victory, Chavez improved his undefeated record to 80 victories with 66 KO´s.
