La Máquina presented in Los Angeles

The red carpet was unfurled and rolled out at the Hollywood Athletic Club in Los Angeles, California, to present La Máquina.

La Máquina is based on the story of Esteban, nicknamed “La Máquina” Osuna, played by Gael García Bernal, a boxer in decline, who fights to regain his glory. Diego Luna plays Andy Luján, Esteban’s manager and best friend, who agrees to help him return to the ring. However, the road becomes complicated and the rematch becomes a gritty fight for survival.

Eiza González plays Irasema, Esteban’s ex-wife and a journalist, whose investigation takes her dangerously deep into the dark side of the boxing world. The series promises an explosive combination of action in the ring and personal drama, while Esteban not only fights for his career, but also to protect his family.

The series is directed by Gabriel Ripstein and produced by Searchlight Television in collaboration with La Corriente del Golfo, the production company of Gael García and Diego Luna; and with the support of the World Boxing Council.

“La Máquina”, which consists of six episodes, can be watched in the United States through the HULU platform and in Latin America on Disney+ starting on October 9th.

The protagonists of the series were present on the Red Carpet, in addition to boxers Richard Torres, Roxie Verduzco, Lupita Medina and trainer Gloria Alvarado, among many other personalities.
