Today we remember 5 important fights between British fighters:
Remembering Carl Froch VS George Groves II
Carl Froch vs. George Groves II, billed as Unfinished Business and The Rematch, was a bout that took place on May 31, 2014 at Wembley Stadium in London. It was a rematch of the first fight of 2013 between the two fighters.
Froch won the fight by knockout in the eighth round and was named Knockout of the Year by many media outlets. The event attracted a record attendance of 80,000 people.

Recalling Nigel Benn vs. Chris Eubank
Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank met twice, once in 1990 and again in 1993. Both warriors had a great rivalry in their careers.
Eubank won the first fight by knocking out Benn in the ninth round in a very close fight. In the fourth round, Eubank received a vicious right uppercut to the chin when he was breaking out of a clinch. The blow caused him to bite his tongue, leaving a severe cut that caused him to swallow large amounts of blood. Eubank, afraid that a doctor would stop the fight, came out in the following rounds more on the offensive punishing Benn, who also showed signs of the battle. The fight ended in round 9 when the referee stopped the fight.

Battle of Brits Vintage- Lennox Lewis vs. Frank Bruno
Lennox Lewis vs. Frank Bruno was a fight known as “The Battle of Britain”, held on October 1, 1993 at the National Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
It was a fight where the WBC heavyweight title was disputed, held by Lennox Lewis, who was making the second defense of his crown against tough and resolute Frank Bruno. Lewis defeated Bruno by technical knockout in the seventh round after six thrilling and very close rounds.

Tyson Fury VS Dillian Whyte
In April 2022, with the WBC heavyweight title at stake, the Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury spectacularly knocked out Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte at Wembley Stadium in London in front of 94,000 spectators.
Fury started things off slow to try and set the tone in the ring, keeping his distance and methodically punishing Whyte’s face. But Whyte showed he had a big heart, as he never gave up on the attack and always looked competitive.
In the sixth round, Fury landed a powerful right uppercut that crashed into Whyte’s chin and face, sending him to the canvas. When he got up, Whyte couldn’t keep his balance, causing Refere Mark Lyson to stop the bout.

David Haye vs. Tony Bellew
David Haye vs. Tony Bellew was a so-called “Grudge Match” fight held in March 2017. The fight was very close until the sixth round, when Haye visited the canvas twice.
Bellew took control of the fight by knocking him down and picking him off on the ropes at the end of the eleventh round. Haye managed to get back to his feet, but his trainer Shane McGuigan threw the towel, giving Bellew a TKO victory.
