The World Boxing Council super middleweight champion, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, will face Puerto Rican Edgar Berlanga on September 14 at the T-Mobile Arena, in an enticing fight that revives the Mexico vs. Puerto Rico boxing rivalry.
Canelo is in the final stretch of his preparation for this fight, for which he assures that he has had a great training camp under the watchful eye of his trainer Eddy Reynoso.
“I am excited to be in that fight. I always prepare myself to the maximum, no matter where it is, I am always focused. These types of fights motivate me. It’s a great fight where the rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico will be present in the ring,” said Canelo.
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez debuted in 2005 and has crafted a career full of success and triumphs. During his brilliant career he has won titles in super welterweight, middleweight, super middleweight and light heavyweight.
Edgar Berlanga, aged twenty seven, has built a record of 22 wins and 17 knockouts, without knowing defeat; and in this fight he will have the opportunity of his life to challenge Canelo for his world titles.
