
In November 2023, the 61st convention of the World Boxing Council was held at the Hilton hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The event was memorable, as there was a great cooperation with the authorities of this beautiful country and especially with amateur boxing, in which Uzbekistan is one of the best in the world.
Headed by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, the event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and President of the Boxing Federation Achilbay Ramatov, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adham Ikramov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan Kudratilla Rafikov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, First Vice President of the Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan Gafur Rakhimov, leaders of the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees and many world boxing stars such as Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Julio Cesar Chavez, Kostya Tszyu, Amir Khan, Alexander Usyk, among others.
At one of the sessions, the WBC recognized amateur boxing in Uzbekistan for the great development it has had, with the presence of important amateur boxers who are currently participating in the Paris Olympic Games and who have reached the finals and have even secured medals.
The WBC would like to congratulate Lazizbek Mullojonov, Ruslan Abdullaev, Bakhodir Jalolov, Hasanboy Dusmatov, Turabek Khabibullaev, Abdumalik Khalokov, Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev, for the great role they have played representing their country at the Olympics.
