The iconic Santa Monica Pier hosted an unforgettable public workout in California, where Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov showcased their skills and excellent condition for a large crowd of fans.
Both warriors will step into the ring on Saturday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, which will be broadcast live on http://dazn.com/wbc
The fight is organized by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh of Riyadh Season, with the backing of several major promotions.
Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) of Omaha, Nebraska, has won 11 consecutive fights by stoppage and will now be moving up in weight to challenge Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) of Uzbekistan.
Here’s what the fighters had to say:
TERENCE CRAWFORD
“I feel great, I have a gift for all of you on Saturday. I hope he does everything he can to take me down, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this is the Terence Crawford era and I’m going to take the win.
“I’m so competitive that when I think I’ve reached my limit, there’s always an extra push to do something I haven’t done before.”
ISRAIL MADRIMOV
“I feel great, I’ve waited for this moment for a long time. My dream is coming true. On Saturday night I’ll show all the boxing fans a great fight.
“I’m only thinking about victory and I’ll show everything I have inside the ring.”
