José Ramírez and José Zepeda comply with WBC Weight Management Program
The World Boxing Council continues to successfully implement the new Weight Management Program, which aims to protect the health of boxers.
On this occasion, the protagonists of the fight for the super lightweight WBC championship, José Ramirez and José Zepeda, presented the new additional weigh in on the day of their fight, as well as the fighters on the undercard.
We thank the fighters, their teams and all those involved in the card, for their valuable collaboration with this new program.
Here is the official report of this new program:

What is the WBC Weight Control Program?
1. Once the fighters and their teams have confirmed a match, the boxers must weigh themselves so that the WBC can know what their initial weight is.
2. Apart from our already pre-weigh ins of 30 and 7 days, the pre-weigh in of 14 days will be added.
For the 30 days pre-weigh in, the boxers must not weigh more than 10% of the limit of their division, for the 14 days they must not exceed more than 5% and in the 7 days 3%, respectively.
3. Also, with the mission of ensuring the safety of boxers and their rivals avoiding over hydration, the World Boxing Council is implementing a weigh in system on the same day of the fight, in which fighters should not weigh more than 10 percent of what they registered during the official weigh-in.
* The fighters must be weighed in the dressing room of the arena where the fight will take place. It must be done to monitor that the established percentage is not exceeded. The intention is to take care of the integrity and well being of the boxers.
