Boxing Saves Lives

At WBC “Coffee Tuesday” Aaron Silva general director of clinics specialized in addictions Hacienda Nueva Vida presented the magazine “Boxeo a way out of addictions” a publication that compiles the testimonies of many young people who have fallen into the world of addictions drugs, and how they have managed to get out of this hell.

Aaron Silva stressed Hacienda Nueva Vida is a beacon of hope for hundreds of young people who, due to various situations, have fallen into alcohol or drugs; However, he was clear in saying that the struggle of these young people should belong to everyone, since as a society  should make them visible and do our bit.

Aaron did not hesitate to talk that he himself fell into addictions more than 12 years ago, a period in which he made many mistakes, where he made his parents and the people he loved the most suffer; However, there was one person who was always there for him, someone who never let go of his hand and who, despite the suffering and frustration, never gave up: his mother.

At this point, Aaron publicly thanked her for all the support and unconditional love and assured that thanks to her he has been able to go so far and become the man he is now.

He also remembered his father who always dreamed of seeing him recovered and free of any substance, but who unfortunately passed away, but who he assures is proud of him wherever he is.

 After hearing Aaron’s testimony, WBC president, Mauricio Sulaimán, invited Mrs. Silva to the podium to give her a well-deserved WBC Medal. 

“Today is a very special day for me, I am very happy but above all proud of my son, to see what he has become and that today he is a man who through his experience is saving the lives of other people.

“It was a very difficult road, it cost me a lot of pain, anguish, frustration… but it was all worth it. As a mother I can only tell you and ask you that if you have a child who fell into addictions, do not abandon him, on the contrary, guide them, help them, be understanding and loving, they need you.”

Happy to present this new project for the magazine, Aaron also announced that very soon he will start a new rehabilitation program in Florida, where, through an agreement, he will help hundreds of young people to rehabilitate themselves but also to be able to integrate into work programs that allow them to send money to their families. 

Mauricio Sulaimán, president of the WBC, assured these life warriors that the WBC will always be in their corner and urged all those present not to be defeated in this fight because it is undoubtedly the most important.

For the top leader, this type of rehabilitation program is extremely important because the comprehensive help they provide is the key to recovery, and it is worth mentioning that this institution has a great boxing program that has become a way to channel emotions, and as we all know, sport is a fundamental part of the healthy development of any individual.
