
Zulina Muñoz returns with victory
Former WBC female super flyweight champion Zulina “Loba” Muñoz roared back with a stoppage victory, after 20 months of inactivity, by defeating brave Arely Valente, who was unable to come out for the sixth round.
Inevitable ring rust had to be shed by Zulina, who needed to range find in the first two rounds, collecting some stinging right hands in the process. But thereafter, Zulina started asserted herself connecting solidly and consistently.
Arely Valente (12-4-1, 6 KOs) valiantly weathered a terrific onslaught throughout the fifth and her corner wisely and humanely decided that enough was enough.
Zulina,improves her record to 49-2-2 and 29 knockouts, intending to seek a rematch for the WBC super flyweight crown, which was won away from her in 2017 by Guadalupe Martinez.
