Zarika vs Mercado II changes date

The big fight scheduled  in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico in which, Yamileth “Yeimi” Mercado seeks the WBC super-bantamweight world championship, was postponed one week, and now, the new date will be on Saturday, November 16.

“Yeimi” Mercado (14-2-0, 4 ko’s) will challenge the WBC 122-pound world champion, Kenyan Fatuma Zarika (32-12-2, 17 ko’s), in a rematch, as in September 2018, Zarika defended her crown by defeating  Mercado by split decision, in Kenya.

Now, the world champion visits her challenger, but the new date will be November 16. The match will take place at the Polyform of Ciudad Cuauhtemoc, presented by Zanfer Promotions and 2 M Box Promotions with the support of H. City Hall of Cuauhtémoc and that will be transmitted by Azteca 7.

Originally, this boxing evening would take place on November 9, but the procedures for hospitalization and work visas for the Kenyan delegation to Mexico experienced some delays, but everything was duly solved with great support from the Mexican immigration authorities.
