
In a great event held at the Maritim Plaza Hotel Tirana, in Albania, the President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán, endorsed Albania’s affiliation to the organization.
In this ceremony, the president of the Albanian Boxing Union (Albanian Boxing Union) Ilir Milan Bregasi received the certificate of affiliation of Albania from the hands of the president of the WBC, becoming the country 172, member of the Green and Gold.
President Bregasi promised to continue working hard for the development of boxing in this region, supporting youth with the goal of promoting future world champions.
Mauricio Sualimán thanked the Albanian team for their hospitality and the hard work they did to reach this point. He also recognized the work of Salavatore Cherchi, who was an important link in bringing about the affiliation of this promising country.
The World Boxing Council was originally formed by 11 countries: the United States, Argentina, England, France, Mexico, the Philippines, Panama, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, and Brazil, on February 14, 1963. Over the years, the WBC has grown exponentially and now we feel proud and honored that Albania is part of the WBC, a country with a bright and promising future in our sport.
