
Stars of Mexican boxing will participate in the José Sulaimán de Sonora Race of Champions, which will take place this Sunday June 18 in Hermosillo and which will distribute a purse of 100,000 Mexican pesos in cash prizes.
After holding eight editions in Mexico City, the World Boxing Council decided to move this race to Hermosillo, Sonora, to promote physical activity among society from different regions of the country.
The 2023 Race of Champions will consist of three distances, 10, 5 and 2 kilometers, with a start and finish line on Hidalgo Boulevard, next to the Municipal and Government Palaces.
Among the Aztec boxing figures who have confirmed their participation are former world champions Érik “Terrible” Morales, Jorge “Travieso” Arce, José Luis “Temible” Castillo, Ricardo “Piolo” Castillo, Hernán “Tyson” Márquez, Juan Francisco ” Gallo” Estrada and Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt.
Registration is open in three modalities, online through the website www.trizon.mx, in person at GNC stores in Hermosillo (Navarrete Boulevard, Epic Square on Colosio Boulevard and Pitic on Morelos Boulevard), and Expreso newspaper, as well as as by whatsapp to the phone 662-182-05-06.
The day before the race, on Saturday the 17th, the packages will be delivered to the runners, at the Los Lagos golf club, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
