WBC eliminatory bout: Ayala vs. Rosales

On Saturday, April 9, in Metepec, Estado de Mexico, Zanfer proudly presents the eliminatory for the WBC flyweight world championship, between the undefeated Mexican Ángel “Camaleón” Ayala (13-0- 0, 6 ko’s) and the experienced former world champion from Nicaragua Cristofer “Látigo” Rosales (32-5-0, 21 ko’s) broadcast by Azteca 7.

Fernando Beltrán, the president of Zanfer, recalled that the municipal president of Metepec, Fernando Flores Fernández, has supported the career of many athletes including the first classified and former world champion, Jaime Munguía.

Flores Fernández recalled that since he was a child he watched Saturday night fights with his father, and he thanked Fernando Beltrán for having the merit of returning to boxing on open television.

“Chameleon” Ayala is happy and motivated to face this important duel against Cristofer Rosales.

Rosales became WBC Flyweight world champion, when in 2018 he appeared in Japan to knock out Daigo Higa in 9 rounds and dethrone him. He lost the title in the second defense, in England, against Charlie Edwards. In addition to his fights in Japan and England, Rosales has also fought in the United States and once in Mexico, in October 2017, knocking out Moroccan Mohammed Obbadi in 7 rounds.
