WBC champions’ sheen at Japan Boxing Commission’s annual awards ceremony
The annual awards ceremony of the Japan Boxing Commission took place this February 19 at the Tokyo Dome Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.
WBC world champion Naoya Inoue received the Most Valuable Player Award for the sixth consecutive year and seventh time along with the Best Knockout Award.
WBC world champion Kenshiro Teraji received the skill award and the excellent player award.
WBC world champion Yudai Shigeoka received the Excellent Player award.
All the winners of these prestigious awards were the following:
• Technique: Kenshiro Teraji,
• Valuable victory: Junto Nakatani
• Excellent boxers: Kazuto Ioka, Takuma Inoue, Yudai Shigeoka, Ginjiro Shigeoka
• Efforts: Seiya Tsutsumi
• Knockout: Naoya Inoue
• Rookie citation: Tenshin Nasukawa
• Female Boxer: Mizuki Hiruta
• Fight of the Year: Naoya Inoue vs. Stephen Fulton
• Fight of the Year (Japan): Seiya Tsutsumi vs. Kazuki Anaguchi (who unfortunately passed away after this grueling bout for the national bantam belt)
• Best trainer: Shingo Inoue (the father of “Monster” Naoya and Takuma Inoue)
