World Boxing Council bantamweight champion from Japan Junto Nakatani, will make the first defense of his crown against Filipino Vincent Astrolabio, on Saturday.
It’s top of the bill at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
The fight is organized by Teiken Promotions, a company run by the legendary promoter Akihiko Honda, and will be broadcasted by ESPN in the United States and Latin America.
Nakatani will make the first defense of his WBC bantamweight title, which he won on February 24, when he defeated Mexican Alexandro “Peque” Santiago by knockout in six rounds.
His rival Astrolabio, is already in Tokyo and reports ready for this important match. He breezed through a brisk training session open to the media, showing that he is in tip top condition for this fight.
Vincent comes to this title opportunity with a record of 19-4, with 14 knockouts. He won his most recent fight against Navapon Khaikanha, after the defeat he suffered last May against Jason Moloney.
