Heavyweight champion of the World Boxing Council Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury, brilliantly defeated the Interim champion Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte, at Wembley Stadium in London, in front of ninety four thousand fans.
Fury began slowly and patiently, prudently keeping his distance, yet peppering Whyte’s face, who demonstrated resolve, because he never abandoned the attack and was always competitive.
Fury was winning the rounds, working with more confidence, pressuring and punishing his rival.
In the sixth round, Fury suddenly landed a powerful right uppercut that slammed into Whyte’s chin, sending him to the canvas.
Getting up, Whyte was unsteady and unable to keep his balance, causing Referee Mark Lyson to stop the action.
With this resounding victory, Fury improves his record to 32-0-1, with 23 knockouts, while Whyte is now 28-3, 19 knockouts. All three of his defeats have come about from uppercuts.
