The trilogy clash between Juan Francisco Estrada and Román “Chocolatito” González will take place for the WBC super flyweight title, at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday, December 3, live worldwide on DAZN.
Estrada (43-3, 28 KOs) and Chocolatito (51-3, 41 KOs) will finally meet for the third time, with their last meeting coming in March 2021, a contender’s fight of the year that Estrada won by split decision in Dallas.
That victory leveled the score between the pair, after “Chocolatito” won his first battle in November 2012 in Los Angeles, and now they will meet once again for his third battle a decade after the first.
In the co-main event, the Spanish Samuel Carmona will challenge the Mexican Julio Cesar Martínez, flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council.
The champion Martínez, was scheduled to face Puerto Rican McWilliams Arroyo for the second time, but unfortunately Arroyo was injured in his training camp.
Carmona, who was an Olympic fighter in Rio de Janeiro 2016, acknowledges that he will face a very strong opponent, but that he is ready for this important challenge and to win the WBC title.
