American Shakur Stevenson will try to become a three-division world champion when he faces Dominican Edwin De Los Santos for the vacant World Boxing Council lightweight title, on Thursday, November 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Snowfall.
In the co-main event, Mexican Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete will defend his WBO super featherweight belt against Brazilian Robson Conceição.
Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs), of Newark, New Jersey, won titles in two divisions during his first five years in the pros. After earning a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics, he debuted as a professional in 2017 and compiled a 12-0 record before defeating Joet González to win the vacant WBO world featherweight championship in October 2019. Two years He then captured the WBO super featherweight title with a 10th-round TKO over Jamel Herring before adding the WBC belt to his collection with a lopsided decision over Oscar Valdez in April 2022. The 26-year-old southpaw defeated to Conceição in September 2022 before moving up to lightweight and scoring a sixth-round TKO victory over Japanese contender Shuichiro Yoshino in April, in a WBC eliminator bout.
De Los Santos (16-1, 14 KOs) is a powerful southpaw from the Dominican Republic. He debuted in 2018 and achieved his first 13 victories in his country. In his US debut, he suffered a split decision loss to William Foster. He hasn’t lost since. In 2022, he defeated two undefeated fighters, knocking out Luis Acosta with a left hook in the second round and knocking down José Valenzuela twice before stopping him in the third round. In his last fight, De Los Santos beat Joseph Adorno by decision in July. This will be his first shot at the world title.
