One of the main projects of the government of Sinaloa, Mexico, headed by Dr. Rubén Rocha Moya, is to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
Efforts are being redoubled to improve care for children, especially those with cancer, said the president of the DIF Sinaloa System, Dr. Eneyda Rocha Ruiz, in the framework of the Commemoration of International Childhood Cancer Day.
In an event held in Culiacán Sinaloa, Dr. Rocha Ruiz called on parents to pay attention to all abnormal symptoms that their children may present and immediately take them to the doctor since a timely diagnosis can and does save their lives.
“From now on we have to raise awareness, those alerts that they give us to detect if a person, boy, girl or adolescent, has cancer, I believe that is the core and fundamental part.”
The Secretary of Health, Dr. Cuitláhuac González Galindo, pointed out that in each meeting he holds with the governor, he asks him about the needs and priorities of the health sector, and always emphasizes the need to prioritize care for the most vulnerable sectors.
Therefore, the greatest effort is made to care for children and especially minors who suffer from cancer, for which investment in infrastructure, human personnel has been increased to improve the quality of life of this sector of the population.
Present at the event, María Fernanda Félix narrated her life experience, she is an eye cancer survivor who was diagnosed in December 2010 as a little girl, commenting on how the days of therapy and medical sessions were, highlighting that the care received of the staff at the Children’s Hospital was great because they never made her feel sick.
Finally, Dr. Rocha and Dr. González, awarded the young kids Luis Angel and Rosalia with a WBC commemorative belt as little heroes who have managed to overcome the illness and have a good life prognosis.
