The WBC mourns the passing of Eliseo Gonzalez

The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán deeply mourn the death of Don Eliseo González, a prominent commissioner and ring official who participated in important WBC fights.

Don Eliseo, who was also a boxer, was born on June 30, 1954. He was President of the Boxing and Wrestling Commission in Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo, Mexico since 1993, promoting hundreds of boxers and playing a wonderful role.

We will always remember Don Eliseo as a charismatic person devoted to boxing, but we will remember him even more for the great human being that he was.

All the WBC family pray with his family and friends. We have lost a Great, one of our very own, and a steadfast constant friend, who will always be remembered fondly and with the greatest of affection.
