The WBC mourns the passing of Cristina Pacheco

The story of the writer, journalist, chronicler and producer Cristina Pacheco sadly ended today, reported her daughter Laura Emilia Pacheco.

Just 20 days ago, she said goodbye to television, after more than 40 years of natural, fresh and effervescent brilliance on the screens.

Serious health problems, mentioned by Cristina Romo Hernández, were the reasons why she would stop broadcasting her famous program “Conversando con Cristina Pacheco” on December 1st.

The legend of journalism interviewed the lifetime President of the WBC, Don José Sulaimán, and it was an honor that the top reporter on Mexican television considered it important to talk to our President. A chat between two natural communicators.

Cristina Pacheco and Don José Sulaimán were awarded by the Mexican Olympic Committee, receiving the Joaquín Capilla medal in September 2010.

The World Boxing Council and our President Mauricio Sulaimán, send our deepest condolences to the family of our beloved Cristina Pacheco. A great journalist, a marvelous interviewer, who put people at their ease and got the best from them.
