Former South African, Commonwealth champion and world title challenger Andre Thysse, who fought as a professional from 1999 to 2009, passed away at age 52, due to complications from Covid-19, this Thursday morning.
Thysse faced great fighters in his career such as Sakio Bika, Adrian Diaconu, Lucian Bute, Markus Beyer, among others.
The President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán and every person affiliated to it, mourns this irreparable loss, and we send our deepest condolences to the champion’s family and friends.
