The World Boxing Council has always tried to be the tree that provides shade, to those in need, during these hard and parched times that the world is going through due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.
The WBC successfully created an extending branch of the “José Sulaimán Boxers Fund” to help active and retired boxers and their families, with food and supplies needed during the global pandemic, all through the ” WBC Covid-19 Fund.”
It`s important to emphasize that this Fund is the result of a joint work between the Nevada Community Foundation and the WBC. Notably, the WBC works with food banks around the world that can be delivered to boxers and their families.
On this occasion, the help reached the Salvadoran Professional Boxing Association (ASABOX) who approached the body to request the support of the fund, among them boxers Ricardo Cortez, Michael Ramírez, Juan Carlos Flores and coach Osman Omar Jiménez, who thanked WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, for this financial help that comes at a very difficult time for them.
