This Friday, July 19, for the first time in more than nine years, Venezuelan boxing will return to the emblematic Poliedro in Caracas, Venezuela, where the former world champion, the Venezuelan, Carlos ¨Triple C¨ Cañizales, will face the Mexican, Iván García for the Silver light flyweight title of the World Boxing Council.
The duel for this prestigious Silver championship will be the star fight in the return of an international card to Venezuelan soil. It should be noted that it will be under the promotion of Jorge Fernández and Williams Pérez, and will also have the supervision of the Venezuelan National Professional Boxing Commission.
The Caracas fighter Carlos Antonio Cañizales, will enter the ring for the second time during 2024, after losing in January by majority decision against the Japanese, Kenshiro Teraji (23-1) in a great fight.
For his part, the Mexican Iván García will return to Venezuela after achieving a tie for the WBC international title against the local, Rodrigo Ramírez at the end of 2023.
This Friday, both warriors breezed the official weigh-in of the evening with both registering a weight below 108 pounds.
