Former world champions Kenia “Jaguarcita” Enríquez and Ibeth ‘La Roca’ Zamora top the Bill and aim to thrill this Sunday at the Arena La Paz in the capital of South California, in a blockbuster presented by the promoter TM Boxing, headed by Eric Ibarra, with the support of Imagen TV and Caliente.mx.
Kenia Enríquez, from Tijuana, and Ibeth Zamora, from Mexico, fight for the WBC Interim flyweight championship
Both were linked via zoom, during our weekly press conference and this is what they commented:
Kenia Enriquez:
“The training camp I had was very hard. Ibeth is an institution within women’s boxing; however, I worked hard to become a World Boxing Council World Champion.
I know that this is my rival, I know that she always goes forward, that she never stops throwing punches. I believe that my youth and my preparation will make the difference.
We open a new space on Television. I know it’s a lot of responsibility, so I’ll do my best to put on a great show on Sunday. On Sunday I will be the new WBC world champion and it will be the culmination of months and years of work. We are only waiting for the hours to pass to get into the ring.
Ibeth Zamora:
“I trained remembering the words of my father, who told me that I had to get ready 100%, since boxing is a high demand sport. I am going for my fourth crown, I am focused and motivated. I dedicate this fight to my family.
“Kenia and I will give you all an explosive fight, there is no doubt that it will be a great fight. I thank God for the opportunity to get back in the ring for a WBC crown. I thank everyone who has supported me throughout my career. I will do my best to give them a great win.”
