Once again, we marvel that there`s a unity of force empowering sheer heartfelt goodness and purpose, capable of moving mountains, achieving incredible things to help a person`s plight, in their hour of greatest need.
As everyone knows, Moises Fuentes suffered a KO loss in October of last year in Cancun, which caused a blood clot on his brain. He underwent emergency surgery and was later transferred to Mexico City to receive care and rehabilitation. Moi is a warrior and as such he has been fighting with courage and resolve to recover his health. We are also only too well aware, that there is still a long way to go and that both he and his beautiful family really need us here and now.
The signs of love and care for Moisés have not been long in coming. A wonderful example of this is the great action of Carlos Cuadras, who recently entered the ring to face Jesse Rodríguez for the WBC super flyweight title and who, days before the fight, donated the gloves of that meeting to raise funds in support of his friend’s family.
In addition, a fund was opened in the name of Moises (United for Moses) where everyone who wishes can enter and help our champion’s family with any contribution, because let’s remember, everything adds up.
The day after the fund was opened, a GREAT AND SELFLESS ACTION FROM legendary Japanese promoter Akihiko Honda, who donated $20,000 dollars on behalf of Carlos Cuadras, Román Gonzalez, Jorge Linares and the newly crowned Champion Jessie Rodriguez.
Actions like these define our sport in its very finest hour, because despite adversity we realize that we are not alone and that as the great family that we are we will always be there for each other, with a helping hand for those who really need it and together rise from the canvas.
Let’s be part of this great wave of love, follow this superb example and help Moses by contributing everything we can.
