Taylor, Serrano, Crews-Dezurn and Cederroos to the fore
This Saturday April 30, a major-mega boxing bonanza, headlined by two women’s unification matches, at Madison Square Garden in New York to be broadcast worldwide by DAZN.
In the main event, the undisputed lightweight champion, Irish Katie Taylor, against unified featherweight world champion, The Pride of Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano.
Taylor (20-0, 6 KOs) puts all the lightweight belts on the line for the sixth time, since winning them in June 2019 in a war with Delfine Persoon and defeating the Belgian in a rematch in England. Then she repelled the challenges of Miriam Gutiérrez, Natasha Jonas, Jennifer Han and Firuza Sharipova.
Puerto Rican sensation Serrano (42-1-1, 30 KOs) already has an unrivaled legacy in the sport, as a seven-division world champion. The Brooklyn-based champion comes to this fight after knocking out Daniela Bermudez last March, dominating Yamileth Mercado in August and beating Miriam Gutierrez.
This fight will be complemented by the fabulous fight between Franchon Crews-Dezurn and Elin Cederroos, both unified champions and of great quality.
Crews-Dezurn (7-1 2 KOs) officially defends the belt, after her first WBO and second WBC defense against Alejandra Jimenez in January 2020 was declared a “No Contest”
The IBF and WBA champion Cederroos (8-0 4 KO) is a former professional soccer player. She turned elite fighter, and is looking to add the Virginia fighter`s belts to her tally, in her second fight in the United States.
The quartet clearly showed that they are in great shape, during a public training session.
